Spring has Sprung !!!

Ah yes, the birds are singing and the blossoms are blooming all over town. The rhododendrons
are out in full force, the trees are blooming and my very favorite, the wisteria are draping gracefully everywhere. This little city is a delight in white, shades of pink and purples decorating our streets. The only thing I am missing is honeysuckle. I can make up for it by melting some Honeysuckle in my melter but oh how I wish I had a bush under a window.
One of my favorite memories is of a honeysuckle bush under my bedroom window in NW Louisiana...the breeze would catch that glorious fragrance and gently waft it over my bed. Sigh.
So in honor of spring I'm having a give away...and what else should it /could it be but something honeysuckle scented ! Ummm...some room and linen spray, some melts, and possibly some other goodies too.
Do you have a favorite spring memory? Please share it with us...leave a comment, any comment (as long as it's a sweet one!) and you will be entered in my spring give away! Oops, I always forget this part, leave a comment please by Tuesday at 4:00 pm Eastern time and I will have the results by Wednesday.

My wish for you: May you always have sweet memories of spring to fall back on.

Oh how wonderful! Lilac is my favorite Springtime scent but Honeysuckle brings back very fond memories...on the playground at our elementary school we had a thicket of Honeysuckle and we would stand near the bush smelling the sweet aroma and enjoy a little "honeysikle"....I also wore a honeysuckle perfume from Avon for many years....it's been forever since I've seen a Honeysuckle bush!
Hugs,

Your Spring blooms are beautiful. This time of year I must settle for roaming the greenhouses and breathing in the sweet scent of the Easter Hyacinths.

Hope you have a Wonderful Easter Weekend :-) Rosie

Oh Francie, it just isn't fair that you are looking at gorgeous flowers while I am waiting for a spring snow storm tonight. 6-10 inches they predict. sigh.

Thank you for sharing these gorgeous blooms. It gives me hope.

xoxo!
Ooooh, Francie...Honeysuckle is my favorite spring scent! When I was very little (my sister didn't come along till I was four, so this HAS to be one of my earliest memories) my chosen outdoor spot to play was under the big maple tree by a fence overtaken with wild honeysuckle vines. My dollies wouldn't accept any other place to play till summertime! lol When we moved to Richwood, the honeysuckle bushes, mountain laurels, and rhododendrons lined the roadside, giving us a brilliant, sweet gateway to the wonders of the forest...we played all day in those woods. =0] Thank you for the lovely pix as well as the opportunity to tip down memory lane! xoxoxo
How great a giveaway for spring! I love spring, all things fresh & new, the beautiful colors, how amazing. I too am having a celebration giveaway for my 50th post, please come by & sign up. Renea
I can't think of any specific favorite spring memory. Baseball games, dance recitals, Easter dresses, Easter egg hunts, dogwoods blooming, the first smell of fresh cut grass..... every spring is a favorite memory in itself.

I love to see the snowdrops and crocus on the lawns. A carpet of colour.

My grandmother always grew Hyacinths in her house and I can smell these just thinking and reading your comments.

Hi, Francie, happy Easter to you! I love those pics you posted, esp. that columned front porch...just gorgeous.

I love azaleas, but we don't have any popping out yet, soon I hope. I always look forward to the blooms coming up in springtime, my favorite time of year.

Happy Spring!

Hi Francie,
I remember traveling to Grandmothers for Easter and all 14 of us grandchildren would wait in the house while the grownups hid the eggs. My grandmother was a gardener, so there was jasmine, roses, lilacs, daffodils, and such smells and scents. Being from the desert it was a wonderland to me. Thanks for evoking such memories.

Hi Francie,
My favorite Spring memory is really lots of memories--of new Easter dresses and matching hats and white gloves... It was always so exciting to wear my new outfit with new white patent leather shoes(but not the scratchy slip!

Happy Easter!

Hi there! My favorite Spring memory is that city where I was born (Kemijarvi, Finland...Lapland) had always a market place where came to sell their things from other cities. I was crazy about trinkets, erasers, and other things that girls usually liked. One time I went to threw a darts as there was prizes too...but I threw them to teddy bear because I can´t threw them so well... LOL My birthday is end of April too so I feel that April is my favorite month because of market memories... Happy Easter!

Hi Francie ~
I hope you are having a wonderfully blessed Easter today!! Hasn't this weather we've been having for the past couple of days been glorious? :)

A favorite Spring memory of mine is when I was a little girl out in the garden with my Mama. She bought me my first tomato plant when I was 7 years old and told me it was all mine to take care of and grow. It was one of those little patio cherry tomatoes and I was so proud of it and of the responsibility to which I was now entrusted. With a few helpful tips, I was delighted the day I saw those first little green tomatoes beginning to grow. When we had bright cherry tomatoes for our salads, I was tickled pink when I was the one that had grown them!

Hugs to you!! Bebe :)

One of my fondest memories are of my younger sister and I always having matching Easter dresses and huge wide brim hats. We would go to church with my grandmother, she would keep us quiet during the service by feeding us peppermint lifesavers and letting us write notes in a tiny notebook she keep in her pocketbook. Hope you are having a wonderful day. Lisa
I can't help but look at the forsythia blooming in the spring without remembering my daughter years ago. She would clip a long branch and use it as her magic wand.
It makes me smile- even after 20 years.

Hi Francie,,,I love your beautiful flowers. Living in the Southwest I just dont get to see those gorgeous shades of green and we cant grow so many of the beautiful flowers!!! Thats the one part I dont like about living here. Desert plants arent as pretty. But there used to be a huge flower garden and every year from march through april you could buy a small bunch of sweet peas. They are my favorite. I would go every year and get some for me and my mother. Unfortunately another housing development has moved in and they are now gone, but I did love those sweet peas. Thanks for the memories...luv Gail

Francie, I wish spring had spring here in Wilmington, but alas NOT!!!!!
Sunny but cold. I am still hibernating. Good thing I went to Chicago. It's the only time I've been out venturing in a month!

Hugs to you my sweet friend.

As a kid the fence that separated the neighbors' yard from ours was simply draped in honeysuckle. We used to sit around and gently pull out the stamen from the flowers to let that lovely drop of nectar lie softly on our tongues. Yum - honeysuckle juice.
