Where this woman Creates ...
I am very blessed to have several places that I can create in but since I have already shared my space at home I am sharing my space at the Scented Cottage. Since I have moved almost all of my business online I am using the second room in the cottage to do mosaics, windows, painting and my larger projects. The first photo is looking towards the left. On the shelves are items I've been collecting to do "something" with. Under the shelves is storage. When I have a client come in to see
how their work is progressing I can hide most of the not so pretty "stuff". Behind the shelves are more shelves and where I keep wood items, extra windows etc.
The second photo is looking towards the right of the room. The bathroom door is on the right, the door on the left goes into the kitchen.
On the far right of the room is a fireplace flanked by two windows that let in a lot of light. I found the mirror on an old dresser, the dresser was trashed but I salvaged the mirror thinking it would be perfect to hang over the mantel.
The window on the table is a commission for a sun room. This is a glass on glass mosaic. These are lots of fun, like doing a jigsaw puzzle. I also reverse paint windows.
Here is a close up of the bottom of the shelves. I bought fabric to cover the bottoms with, stapled velcro onto the shelves and onto the fabric so I can pull it off and put it back on easily.
One of my favorite display/storage solutions is using galvanized tubs or baskets on top of bar stools. You can find the wooden stools at yard sales or thrift stores. I've paid from $1.00 to $3.00 for them, take off the seat cover if they have one, paint them any color you like (or not), add a tub or basket to the top (you can put in a screw or two if you are worried about it tumbling) then load up your tub or basket. Keeps stuff off the floor and at a handy height.
I have a LOT of favorite things in my workspace but here is my VERY favorite...can you guess what it is? Nope, it's not my dress form Giselle, altho I do really like her, not the bulletin board or my paintings either. It is what's behind that door. Behind that door sits my SweetiePie. His office is right next door in the other half of the cottage and I can open that door any time and see his sweet face. That is the thing I love the best about my creative space at the Scented Cottage.
Thank you for visiting me at the Scented Cottage Studio. I'm off to visit all the other creative spaces and hope you will too.
My wish for you: may you be able to see YOUR SweetiePie's dear face anytime you wish.

Now for yours... How lucky to have two places to create! And you have so much storage space! I see you love the color purple. And best of all sharing with your sweetie. My sweetie & I share an office. Most of the time I LOVE that but, sometimes he talks tooooooooooooooooooo much when I am trying to work or concentrate. Do you have that problem? Off to see some more. Thanks for sharing. Charlene

That mosaic glass window is really cool. I love the idea. I am working on a glass mosaic pot for my garden. I can't tell you how many bandaids I've gone through! Thank you so much for joining the party and sharing your beautiful room with us all.
