We have been without an internet connection for waaaay to long but FINALLY have it back.  Sooo to celebrate I want to bring you a great cause with a $100.00 certificate give away as well as a give away from The Scented Cottage Studio.

We have received numerous requests to advertise, to do give aways that are basically advertising and I have always refused.  When Novica contacted me I did not hesitate ... while  I did not start this blog for commercial reasons, other than my own website :) ... this  to me is "different".  Novica in association with National Geographic,  is helping artisans to make a living for themselves and their families.
I know this has been a very difficult year for many, but remember, our difficult times are nothing compared to what people in other countries go through on a daily basis.  If you can take the time after looking at the beautiful items you can choose from when you win to read about the program and sponsor an artisan (remember, you will get your initial investment back !) it is my belief it will come back to you many times over.   I sponsor four artisans and hope to sponsor more as the year goes on.  Even if you can not help at this time, please see what these artisans have to offer, enter to win the $100. gift certificate and when you do win post about them and the work Novica is doing...help get the word out and that will be a big help to these artisans too.

I'm a follower as well and I love Novica I'm a big beliver in fair trade my son has really opened my eyes to slave labor and the slave trade. I have seen many things on Novica I hope to get someday.

I am glad that you only got the rain. Actually the snow is pretty, and because in our area we did not get much at all of the predicted freezing rain, we still have our power.

Hi Francie, Leave it to you, my dear friend, to have a give-away benefiting others in so many ways. So sorry you were without internet...what a bummer and skeery to those of us with websites. Did you get any snow down your way? We just had a dusting yesterday with ice...yuk...I hate ice but we were lucky that no power outages occurred. Working my big butt off today trying to revamp the website. Still haven't found a designer to help me out. Take care and stay sweet xoxo

My oldest brother did some articles for National Geographic years ago, we went to visit their headqtrs in DC when I was about 10, what an impact that had on me. They are such a wonderful organization, from the magazine, to the shows, to this. I'm going to check out Novica right now. Thanks for the post.

Francie you have a big heart of gold. What a wonderful thing you are doing. I am definitely going to visit Novica and see what they are all about. And I will be more than happy to put them on my blog and share them on Twitter. I love spreading good things. Like you said...there are so many others that are doing much worse than we are. I mean look at the floods in Brazil where 500 are dead and Australia got hit too. So I thank God for what I have. Pretty please enter me sweetie. I would die for that Eiffel Tower cookie cutter. I have read about NOVICA on another blog because I have a graphic on my blog to pray for Haiti...it is an awesome offer.
