Pink Saturday .... Nostalgia
Happy Pink Saturday ! Going to share a sweet gift I received while on a shopping trip. I believe that I am blessed to find little sumpin's every once in a while, I call them little gifts from my heavenly Father and I am always delighted.
Let me first tell you that I have no memories of my Mama Rosa, my mama's mama. I have a picture of her holding me in her lap, I think I might have been 3 months old. My mama had kept five plates that were her mama's, how she managed it with all the moving we did is amazing to me. When she passed, my sister, who has two daughters, took three of the plates and I took two. I have had one hanging on the wall in my kitchen ever since, the other put away since odd numbered arrangements are more pleasing. I have always hoped to find something to put with the two plates so I could make a nice grouping.
This is Mama Rosa's plate. I love everything about it from the shape, the raised pattern on the edges, the creamy background color to the pink and yellow roses and the hint of lavender. My Mama Rosa was a shabby cottage girl !!!
This is the sweet gift I found, I think it is going to be perfect between the two plates I have. It is a little bit larger than Mama Rosa's plates but the shape is very similar, as is the embossing and the colors. I have been looking for years and years and then ... there it was and with a birdhouse and little bird (trust me it's there) and I do love decorating with birds, nests, birdhouses etc and it was only $3.00. I felt so blessed and was sooo happy to find it.
Thank you for visiting me, I really enjoy your comments and always try to return the visit. Please visit Beverly for a lot more wonderful pinks. And have a wonderful Pink Saturday. (()) Now ya'll beee sweet and come back.

I remember both my grandmothers but one passed way too young! I was especially close to her. I have an old recipe book of hers, and the only doll she ever owned which she left to me.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful plates and for stopping by. It's always lovely to hear from you. Happy Pink Saturday and enjoy your weekend.
Blessings,
Sandi

PS: I am sorry I didn't get to visit you on Beverly's birthday post. We had 11 people (grands and children) here. Today peace and quiet at last. I miss them though. xoxoxo
