King Babar and Queen Celeste....

I've always loved reading. As a child one of my favorites was Babar the Elephant.  Histoire de Babar was written by Jean de Brunhoff from stories his wife, Cecile, told their children .  Later A.A. Milne introduced an English language version titled The Story of Babar.  After a series of adventures, Babar becomes King of the elephants and his cousin Celeste, Queen.   While out and about I was delighted to find this book and I'm sharing it and Babar and Celeste below for Pink Saturday.

Happy Pinks Francie! I loved Grimm's Fairy Tales and I used to read them over and over. Cinderella and anything that spoke of a princess always intrigued me. Thank you for your visit and have a lovely weekend.

Blessings,
Sandi

Hi Francie, thank you for your sweet comments on my posts. I appreciate your visits so much. You always make me smile and even laugh out loud. I adore your sense of humor.

Your favorite book is darling. I love the cute illustrations of Babar and his queen. I read so many books when I was young but none were saved. How sad. We moved too much and I guess my mom just had to limit the packing.

Happy Pink Saturday,
love, Jeanne

I was a big fan of Enid Blyton an English author and loved the Famous Five series of books.

Barbar is a lovely story for children. I loved reading as a child, the earliest I remember is Shepherd of the Hills when I was about 10. I also loved before that just looking a pics of Snow White with her beautiful black hair. Thanks for coming by today.

Hi Francie! My girls loved Babar!! I loved Eloise and Beatrice and the Borrowers. As I got a little bit older I loved the Nancy Drew mysteries and...biographies!
Happy Pink Saturday!! ~Lorraine ♥♥♥
I love to read and I am surprised at myself for not being familiar with Babar! As a little girl I always loved the usual Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella...etc...But I remember being in 7th grade Lit and reading Great Expectations. I loved it, that novel introduced me to the world of books. Happy Pink Saturday

HPS .... I don't remember as a child but I do know my kiddos love the cat in the hat books... Can't get enough of them. Hugs
My favorite book from childhood is '1001 Arabian Nights'. My daughter, who received her Masters in Library Science, has So many children's books that you wouldn't believe it. I'm going to borrow her copy of Babar and re-read it.

Oh wow, this brings back some memories! I also loved Danny and the Dinosaur. Some of these old books have found their way to my kids' bookshelves. Making memories with them while reliving some of my own - sweet. xo Heidi

Hi Francie, thank you for the sweet comments you left on my blog. I'm happy to say my knee is on the mend.

I loved Nancy Drew, read ALL of her books when I was a little girl. She was my hero!

I'm grabbing your button, you did a good job! I had to pay someone to make me one, I never could figure out how!! :-)

Best wishes, Dorothy

Francie, my brother was 4 years older than me and he used to read me, "Uncle Wiggly". I loved it! Don't know what happened to our book, but my brother has long passed on and if I ever saw the book again, I would buy it.

And thanks for visiting my blog!
