Bridal Veils ..does the veil make the Bride?

Do you watch "Say Yes to the Dress" ?  Many times a bride to be has said she didn't feel like a bride until she put on the veil and got "jacked up".
The fabulous creative Carol The PolkaDot Closet  mentioned she had just found a collection of vintage bridal veils and I said "hey, why don't we do a post on them at the same time".   She put out an invitation to join us on her blog and two other ladies are joining in. Lynn, another very creative friend The Vintage Nest  and a new friend Maggie Little Miss Maggie.              Click on the links above to see their beautiful posts and the first photo for a larger view.

Second time around, or just a bride who loved blue?

Love the tiny pink flowers

This reminds me of Juliet ...

A "new old stock" never worn, tag says "Altar Bound"

This is the largest headpiece and has the longest train

The prettiest full crown

Just wire and pearls with a bit of trim, home made?

So lovely in person.
Which one is your favorite?  Did you have a wedding veil and did you keep it?
Thank you for your visit and sweet comments.  Now ya'll bee sweet and come back soon.

Hi Francie, you have a wonderful collection. Yes, I still have my headpiece and veil. It was more like a wide headband with pearls and satin flowers. My hair was long and I wore it down. I didn't have daughters to wear my dress but my niece wore it. I was tickled!

Francie, that is a beautiful collection. Thanks so much for telling me that I had word verification on. I had no idea and turned it off. Have a great week.
Hi Francie, I'm BACK! I have missed visiting you and my blog friends so much. I am back down to earth after our heavenly 50th celebration. Thank you so much for your 'many' well wishes for our 50th. It finally happened and now life goes on like it always does. We are blessed with many wonderful memories.

I did have a veil and I didn't keep it. I am so sorry now. It was a short one like my dress. That was the style in 1963. I did keep my dress though and it still looks brand new. It was only worn once. It is hard to pick my favorite veil but I do like the handmade pearl crown a lot. The one that was worn and then the matching unused one was amazing. This was a great post. My sisters in the antique business are always on the lookout for bridal veils to sell. They seem to be a collectible favorite.

Your hubby's new toy is giving me a fear for your safety. Be careful please. I do love the pink jacket and head gear. Smile.

Wishing you happy days my friend.
xo, Jeanne
