LOVE Pink Saturdays but

they get here so quickly !    Sharing some beautiful hand painted porcelain half dolls that I just put in the shop this morning... this is what I used to make my pin for the Asheville Once Upon a Dream event.

Made from antique molds, these tiny treasures were created and hand painted by Carla Khouri.  Imagine the hours and hours it took to clean, fire and paint !    The colors show much brighter than they are, they are really very delicate and pale shades of green, lavender, yellow, blue and PINK.   Two fabulous Marie style and a beautiful Southern Belle.

How beautiful and delicate they are, and what a stunning pin they must make. Are these the same that were used in the making of victorian pin cushions? I've always wanted to make one...or better yet find one!

You are my ShoutOut for todays Pink Saturday. Hope yours a Happy One and the weekend perfect. We are having cold mornings and pleasant afternoons here in Texas.

Hi Francie,
I love half-dolls and have two. I have been wanting to make them into pin cushions and one day I will. Getting the bottom flat and firm with cardboard has been my problem.

I saw one in Prescott at an antique store for over $1,000. This particular antique store had a cabinet full of them. They were amazing to look at!
HPS!

Good morning Francie, A day late but life has been busy here with company for the past two weeks.

I love the beautiful half dolls. I used to look for the vintage ones to sell when I was an antique dealer. I have always loved them and these are so well done by Carla. Thank you for sharing them.
Hugs, Jeanne
I love your half dolls! I have a few full sized antiques that are so fun. Thanks for visiting.
