Are We Rested Up Yet?

The holidays are a wonderful time but let's face it, most of us do a fair share of extra work during this time of year and it can wear us out. So now there is (hopefully) some time for us to rest and relax a bit.
I tried to do my fair share of resting and relaxing too (okay, so maybe just a bit more than fair :) ) but now I really have to step it up ... have to re-stock the Cottage Shops and do some planning for things to come.
First let me tell you all how much I appreciate you visiting my blog and leaving a message...Ya'll know I sometimes get caught up at the shop and in the zillion things we all have to do once we get home. ...but you my dear friends stick with me and I really appreciate it. So thanks!
One of my favorite ways to relax is with a nice hot cup of tea, a lovely scented candle burning and a pretty magazine.
Do you have a favorite way to relax? If so, won't you share it with us...tell you what (hmmmm WHAT could POSSIBLY be coming next?????) if you share your favorite way to relax with us I'll put your name in a drawing for one of my demitasse teacup candles.....see the last photo. Yup one of those....
My wish for you : May you have time or make time to rest and relax in your most favorite way.

I'm not entering the contest, cos - well you know, I have so many nice friends who send me stuff already, ;)but it has to be a hot dimly lit bath, (but not so dim you can't read) and a glass of wine or two - because it is the ONLY place where I can truly put my feet up as it were, without being tempted to tidy up or do more painting. Hard to do housework in the bath!
I love having a cup of hot Earl Grey tea in front of the fireplace in the afternoon, and read a chapter in my current book. Ever since we installed the "gas" back in the fireplace, I can turn it on for just ten minutes...so wonderful!

In the spring, same tea, same book, but in the garden on the deck!

Hi Francie!

I am a coffee girl. So, in the evening while Hubby is watching Hockey, I make myself a cup of coffee with Frangelica and whipped cream....cover up with a small quilt and look at decorating magazines. Ah, the life :-)

All the Best to You.......Rosie

Hi Francie,
You are a girl after my own heart! I also love to relax with a cup of tea, a scented candle and my latest copies of Tea Time and Victoria--my favorite magazines! In fact, I am headed to my big chair and a half to relax right now!

PS I can't wait to see your tiara!

Hi Franice, glad to see you again. I love to curl up on the sofa in the sunroom with a throw on my feet A cup of hot coffee or tea and a stack of books and magazines. I never make it through the stack as I always fall asleep

Hi Francie! Actually, my favorite way to relax is or includes burning a candle - no matter if I'm relaxing in the tub or reading my favorite book and having a cup of tea I HAVE to have a candle nearby. My newest one is the one in your first photo!!! I love it! Wonderful scent!

Hugs,
Deborah

Relaxing - --- hot bath with bubbles. Or reading in a quiet house. Better yet - reading in a hot bubble bath in a quiet house. Yep!!

I might be a little odd, but I find cooking to be weirdly relaxing. But since I don't want to end up weighing a ton, a chick flick can be very relaxing also. And I keep the kettle going no matter what!

I love to put a fire on and sit and read the day away! Sometimes an old fashioned novel, sometimes a scrumptious magazine, but mostly blogs. I love your candles! Count me in, please. Blessings... Polly

Hi Francie!

Love the tea display! Anything with roses! I totally understand relaxing even though I barely have time to do so. As you think of new things for 2008 definitely take time for you. You deserve it!

Rest? Relax? Ummmm..... hmmmmmmm. I like to paint, sew, saw... wait... you said relax... Ummm. Does folding laundry count? There's so much to be done... I like to get out of the house and take the dogs for a walk. Such lovely lovely tea cups you have.

I just found your lovely blog. I relax with photography. Often, the end of a busy day, I find it most soothing to be one with nature and find a lovely view of the sunsetting and hold it forever by taking a photograph of it. So serene..so promising.
