Twenty-five Years Ago...

one of the smartest things I ever did was to marry this man. You can tell I knew it at the time too...Why is he sitting down you ask? Well, just a couple of weeks before he was on his way to

our wedding on his motorcycle when he was hit by a car. Took a nasty tumble and almost lost a leg. So he got to sit down for the ceremony. Probably a good thing too. Notice I am holding his hand VERY tightly and I made sure his crutches were out of reach :).
Tomorrow early we are off to the Tennessee mountains to spend a few days together to celebrate. Hope to have pictures to share with you on Monday.
Do you have a story about your wedding you would share? Please leave a comment ... everyone who does will receive a little sumpin' sumpin' and one delightful commenter will receive a big sumpin' sumpin'.....comments left after the next post are not eligible...thanks for understanding.
My wish for you...may your choices always be smart ones and your love last a lifetime.

Gosh, I wish i could come up with something but the whole of it is a bad memory. I am always happy to hear about people who are happily married.

Happy Anniversary. Your story made me laugh. DH & I eloped - his dad passed away unexpectedly about the time we were talking about getting married and we thought it would be hard for his mom to go through a big event. I had always wanted to get married on my grandparents anniversary - October 28th. DH & I called our two best friends on that morning and made arrangements to pick them up after work. We drove to Town Hall - got married - and went out to dinner. I laughed through the whole ceremony (it was a nervous laugh)! The Judge made it worse by making a joke about taking our marriage seriously! That was nearly 27 years ago - so I guess we took it serious enough!

I hope you had a special day today :)

How sweet and happy anniversary! My hubby got in a car accident on the way to the ceremony! Nothing serious, just a cut hand thank goodness.

My story is exactly like Vallen's and I feel precisely the same way.... Your SweetiePie,however is darling and delightful, which is a good thing in a SweetiePie. You look like the quintessential Hippy Southern Belle Bride, which is to say adorable. My deepest congratulations to you both. Big hugs and enjoy Tennessee -- I hear it is a breezy 96* down there.

Enjoy,
Jenny
Hey, Mz. Francie & congrats on 25 years!! I had no idea you were married that long. I thought you were a spring chicken. You need to post more pics of yourself. We'd love to see.

My sweetie & I got married 2 years ago (as you probably saw in June when I posted about our anniversary. Don't have any big stories to too, but it was a sweet wedding in my old backyard.

have a great weekend. I hope to win a little sumpin sumpin'.

August 12 my Mom & Dad celebrated their 57th anniversary. They are very much in love. They have lived in the same house and have the same phone number from the beginning. They live in Michigan and go to Florida in the winter. They are very blessed.

Hi Francie, Lucky You...what a lovely anniversary get-away. My other half and I celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary on Aug. 3rd. Gar's father was very ill at the time of our wedding and although he traveled to the wedding he was too sick to attend the ceremony. So after the ceremony and before the reception the whole wedding party trooped over to his hotel to see him and have another mini ceremony. Wow....where did the time go? I love your blog and the music. It's such a fun read. xoxo Lynn

Hi Francie....here's my wedding story...My husband and I had both been married previously and neither of us was looking to marry again in the near future; however, higher powers seemed to be at work! We actually met on the eBay Pottery Discussion Board....yes, he was one of "those internet people!!!"...:) We chatted there with lots of other people who collected pottery and eventually discovered we only lived a couple of hours apart. At that point we were still only friends and began meeting at a weekly auction in a town about midway between us. One thing led to another and we fell in love and got married 6 years ago....one of the best decisions I've ever made! I refer to myself
as "his best eBay purchase". :)

Your husband sounds like a real SweetiePie...but I bet he thinks you are too!

Pink hugs,
Debbie

Francie, looks like you got a keeper. How wonderful. I got one too, 8 years ago and it seems like yesterday. I'm so happy for you and your wonderful DH. We need more happy couples out there to make the world a better place.

On our wedding day we were given what may seem like unusual advise to give a couple on that much anticipated day. We were told right before the ceremony that it was "the least important day of your entire marriage." Looking back over the past 28 years I would say it was absolutely true.
Thank you for sharing your life with us in your beautiful blog.
